Treasure Valley AAU Girl's Tryout Information
How do I tryout for AAU Basketball?
All players who wish to play in the Treasure Valley AAU league must attend an AAU authorized tryout. Trying out for AAU Basketball is easy; there's no need to pre-register and no cost to try-out. Simply attend the tryouts for your high school feeder area at the assigned time. For example, if you live & attend a school that feeds into Mountain View High School, you will tryout at Mountain View's assigned time. Players must tryout at current grade level.
Where do I tryout for AAU Basketball?
Tryouts for all 5th-7th Grade girls in the Treasure Valley will take place at the Homecourt YMCA in Meridian which is located at 936 W. Taylor Street. Click here for a detailed map.
What happens at tryouts?
Athletes should arrive 30 minutes prior to their scheduled tryout time & wear athletic shoes, shorts & a T-shirt. Upon arrival, each athlete will sign-in, receive a temporary tryout jersey with a number on it & warm up. Coaches will run athletes through various drills such as shooting, passing, dribbling, defense & scrimmage game play. Tryouts usually take 1½ hours, parents are invited to stay & watch the tryouts after they attend a brief parent meeting.
When are the tryouts?
Tryouts for ALL girls living in the Treasure Valley will be held October 10th and 17th, 2009; exact times are listed below. Players should make every effort to attend their scheduled tryout time, however, if it's not possible to attend on this date, players may attend the Make-Up Tryouts. Make-Up Tryouts will take place on Tuesday, October 20th, 2009. Players are not permitted to tryout more than once. See the AAU Details & Guidelines link for complete details.
