2010 Girl's AAU Basketball Tournament Information
The AAU End-Of-Season Tournament will be held Friday, February 26th (Approx.6pm-9pm) and Saturday, February 27th (Approx. 8am-6pm) at Meridian Middle Schools. Scroll down to view the brackets.
Tournament Information:
* Tournament is single elimination, meaning 1 loss and a team is out of the tournament.
* Each bracket will hold their own tournament. All teams will play their own grade & bracket level; meaning 5th Grade JV teams will play other 5th Grade JV teams, etc. Each bracket will have a Tournament Champion team & Runner-Up team, awards will be provided to all players of those two teams and the team who earned the sportsmanship award.
* Teams are seeded based on their overall ranking at the end of the regular season. If 2 teams end the season with the exact same record we will use a heads up format to decide who gets the higher seed. This means if Team A & Team B both finish the regular season 7-3 we will look at who won the game between Team A & Team B during the regular season. The winner will get the higher seed and the loser will get the lower seed. If teams finish the season with the same record but did not play each other or played each other twice, each winning one time, etc. we will flip a coin to determine who gets the higher seed.
* AAU uses the same format as the NCAA Basketball Tournament placing the highest ranked team against the lowest ranked team and funneling down the brackets until the 2 middle ranked teams playing each other. This format rewards teams for a strong regular season.
* The higher ranked team is considered the home team and will wear white jersey's. Remember the home team must provide a book keeper and the visiting team must provide a score keeper.
* All game & administrative rules are the same as they were during the regular season with the exception of play time; all players are not required to play in tournament games. Play time is determined by the coach.
