Treasure Valley AAU Boy's Tryout Information

How do I tryout for AAU Basketball?

 All players who wish to play in the Treasure Valley AAU league must tryout with their current grade and/or age level on one of the official tryout dates. Participating in the tryouts is easy; there's no need to pre-register and there's no cost to try-out. All AAU tryouts will take place at the Homecourt YMCA in Meridian which is located at 936 W. Taylor Street. Click here for a detailed map. Please arrive 30 minutes prior to the time listed below. 

What should I expect at tryouts?

When you arrive, each athlete will sign-in, receive a jersey with a number on it and warm up.  Participants will then be divided into groups by grade. Coaches will run athletes through various drills such as shooting, passing, dribbling, defense & scrimmage game play.  To print off a 'Tryout Assessment Form', which lists the skills performed at tryouts, click here. Assessors will watch the athletes and grade them on their skill level. Tryouts usually take 1-1½ hours, parents are invited to stay & watch the tryouts after they attend a brief Parent Meeting. What if I can not attend tryouts?

All Players should make every effort to attend their scheduled tryout time, however, if it's not possible to attend on this date, players may attend the Make-Up Tryouts. Players are not permitted to attend both tryout dates or tryout out for multiple teams. Coaches will not decide on their final rosters until after the make-up tryout date and viewing all tryout participants. 

What happens after tryouts?

All Players are contacted by a coach or AAU staff within 7 days after the Make-Up tryout date. If a player does not make a Varsity team and has scored high enough at the tryouts, they may be placed on a Junior Varsity team.

9:00am - Bishop Kelly **(See Below)**

10:20am - Caldwell

11:40am - Columbia

1:00pm - Kuna

2:20pm - Middleton

3:40pm - Nampa

5:00pm - Skyview

6:20pm - Vallivue

**In order to tryout for a Bishop Kelly team, participants must be registered at a feeder parish, have a sibling attending BK, or provide written documentation of BK attendance intent.

 Make up Tryouts for all 5th, 6th & 7th grade boys will be Tuesday, August 25th, 2009 at Homecourt YMCA
