How do I tryout for AAU Basketball?
All players who wish to play in the Treasure Valley AAU league must attend an AAU authorized tryout. Trying out for AAU Basketball is easy; there's no need to pre-register and no cost to tryout. Simply attend the tryouts for your high school feeder area at the assigned time. For example, if you live & attend a school that feeds into Mountain View High School, you will tryout at Mountain View's assigned time. Players are permitted to tryout once for their current grade level & team. Players should make every effort to attend their scheduled tryout time, however, if it's not possible to attend on this date, players may attend the Make-Up Tryout Date; players are not permitted to attend both tryouts. Athletes should arrive 30 minutes prior to their scheduled tryout time & wear athletic shoes, shorts & a T-shirt. Players are not permitted to attend both tryout dates. What happens at tryouts?
When you arrive, each athlete will sign-in and receive a jersey with a number on it. Coaches will run athletes through various drills such as shooting, passing, dribbling, defense & scrimmage game play. To print off a 'Tryout Assessment Form', which lists the skills performed at tryouts, click here. Tryouts usually take 1½ hours, parents are invited to stay & watch the tryouts after they attend a brief Parent Meeting.
When & Where are the tryouts?
The 2010 8th & 9th Grade Boy's & Girl's AAU tryouts will be held at the Homecourt YMCA on February 27th & March 6th, 2010. Make-up tryouts will be held on Tuesday, March 9th at Lewis & Clark Middle School. Exact date & times are listed below. Click here for a map to Homecourt YMCA.

When will the practices & games be held?
Practices will begin the week of March 22nd; there are no scheduled practices over Spring Break, but there is an optional Pre-Season Jamboree on Saturday, April 10th. Regular Season Games will take place April 17, 24, May 1, 8, 15. End-of-Season Tournament will be held May 21st & 22nd. All-Star Event will take place on Friday, May 28nd. The exact game schedule will be posted by April 12th, 2010.
